My middle son called me today. He is just as fed up as everyone else with "rescuing" We never have family time anymore that is not about Tom. He is newly married to a beautiful young lady & should be sharing newly wed stories & there is none of that. I hope we can get together & become a family again.

What is a Mom to do when a son is facing jail?

I am the Mom of a 28 year old son who has been tormented by drugs since 13. He is now facing what I believe will be jail time. He has had many brushes with the law. He has had many suicide attempts and many hospitalizations due to drugs. He lies, & steels. You can not believe a words he says.

I still love him, I look at him and see the 8 year old happy go lucky boy he used to be.

He seems to be determined to hurt himself, He sabotages any thing that starts to look good for hims, IE: Work, women & sibling relationships. It breaks my heart to know this is where we wind up after all the struggles.

I need to come to some kind of peace wit thins. Could it be the best thing for him? Will anything change him? Is bi-polar & manic depressive real? or just an explanation? Excuse?

I am just heartbroken for myself & for him.
